Andrea Díaz recently had one of her images from the Truth with a Camera Workshop: Guadalajara place in a prestigious contest.
El México de los Mexicanos is a cultural project designed to pay honor to the unique spirit and character of Mexico and her people.
The idea of the project is to assemble a juried collection of images that show Mexicans of all ages and socioeconomic levels in the context of their daily lives from different regions of the country.
28,214 people from Mexico and around the world submitted images for this year’s competition. 1000 images were selected for the collection. Andrea Díaz’ image from Escuela Helen Keller is one of 125 photos from the collection, curated for a traveling exhibit and book.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2009, Andrea will be traveling to Mexico City for the opening of the event. Check back soon to see where Andrea’s image placed.
